We have an old chicken coop in our backyard. We use compost from it that is probably two decades old that we use as a filler for planting our garden plants. It's seasoned and doesn't have all the harmful ammonia that will kill garden plants as in fresh manure from the chicken coop does. We mix it in with or dirt and use to plant our garden plants and bedding annuals in and they flourish. Other methods as table scraps, potato peelings, and other manure that has aged is also a great way to rich-en up soil to make all your garden plants look absolutely excellent without paying one dime for expensive fertilizers and plant foods
.
When you put these compounds in your soil, mix it thoroughly into the existing soil you already have and then plant. Water your plants very well after planting and then daily for the first 4-5 days. You should have a lovely garden when spring time comes.
Nothing feels better or more rewarding than sitting in your garden, enjoying a cup of fresh cider or tea and admiring all the blooms and blossoms of your labor enjoying the hummingbirds, bees, and birds gathering around the beauty and feast while enjoying them.
