Organic Ways of Getting Rid of Weeds From Your Garden

Weeds can be a nuisance in the garden if they spread and get out of hand. They pose as a threat to your beloved plants and it is important to get rid of them on time so that they can be controlled efficiently.

I do not despise weeds and let them be; if they behave. Some unwanted weeds, grasses and dandelions are pretty and a few of them popping up in the flower bed does not bother me. But most of the weeds are known to be very invasive and they can take over the entire garden.

There are many ways of getting rid of these nasty plants and the most common one is to use industrial herbicides and other similar chemicals on them. More and more people these days are opting for alternative methods of getting rid of weeds and pests from the garden. Organic methods are healthier for humans and better for the environment as unlike chemicals they do not pollute the surroundings with harmful toxins.

One of the easiest way of removing weeds without using any chemicals is by pulling them manually. It can be a tedious job but if the garden is maintained regularly then you will not have a lot of them. Keeping an eye on your garden and removing new weeds will discourage them from growing and spreading in a larger area.

Home remedies and homemade sprays are also quite effective in weed control. Soapy water spray and Vinegar kill weeds by burning them. Soap spray can be made by mixing liquid soap or dishwashing liquid with water. Sprinkling salt on the roots is another way of killing them.

To ensure that your home garden remains healthy and to discourage weeds from growing, it is advisable to use mulch around your plants. Put mulch in the flower beds and around trees and shrubs. Mulching suppresses weed growth and make a protective layer around the plants. These are some easy organic ways that you can choose over harmful pesticides and herbicides to keep your garden weed free.
