Decorating your lawn for Easter
Easter brings a time of renewal and a reminder that winter's dreariness gives way to spring's beauty. Decorating your lawn for Easter is a wonderful way to celebrate not only this holiday, but the changing of seasons.
When perennial flowers that are returning from previous years or perennial flowers that are newly planted bloom in your landscape, you could rest assured that spring has finally arrived. When those blooms coincide with Easter, you have ready-made decorations that provide natural beauty.
The decision to plant colorful perennials of different colors will enhance what you already have in your lawn. If you decide to add more flowers -- whether annuals or perennials -- check at your local nursery for in-season options. Any local nursery should have a variety of perennial flowers to choose. When you plant colorful perennials of different colors they will make your lawn shine. Annuals are also a great choice for quick color, but remember that they will only last for a short time. Choosing perennials is an ideal long-term choice for enhancing your landscape.
Adding other elements to celebrate the season like Easter eggs is another great way to incorporate color in your lawn. Simple ideas using Easter eggs are always the best. Consider the idea to hang plastic eggs on trees as a very quick and easy method of decorating. Use yarn or string. Cut pieces of string into 6-12 inch lengths then tie the ends together. Close one of the ends inside the plastic eggs to create hangers. When you are ready, choose prominent trees or bushes in your yard then hang plastic eggs on trees or bushes to create colorful Easter egg trees.
If you have seasonal statuary (rabbits, crosses, chicks, eggs), bring them out and place them around your yard. Perhaps place one at the front entrance or porch of your home. A decorative flag is another simple way to decorate your lawn and dress up your home for Easter. Local garden and home centers, as well as discount stores, often have a variety of seasonal decorative flags available for purchase.
Whatever your choices to decorate your lawn for Easter, whatever color and decoration your add is sure to make your home festive for this spring holiday.
